John Hancock Charter School (JHCS) is a school of 180 students, 9 teachers and was founded in 2000 by a group of dedicated parents and administrators who saw a real need and demand for a K-8 charter school in Utah County. JHCS is a public school, chartered by the Utah State Office of Education. We are currently ranked #5 by the Sutherland Institute for both Elementary and Middle schools.

The mission of John Hancock Charter School is to provide that core foundation and make our students successful learners for life.

5K course that begins and ends at West River Front Park (11050 South) on S River Parkway in South Jordan. Course goes through residential neighborhood and on the Jordan River Trail. Uphill in first mile, then downhill and flat for the last 2 miles.

10K course follows the same course as 5K, then continues south on the Jordan River Trail with a turn around point. Over 4 miles are mostly flat along the Jordan River trail.

The Tour de Run is an exciting new concept in the running world based on the incredibly exciting stage format seen in the grand cycling tours of Europe. Although the Tour de Run will be fast and competitive at the front of the race, the majority of participants will be runners of all ages and abilities. The race will begin with the first stage on the evening of July 13, 2012. Stages 2 and 3 will be run in the morning and early afternoon of Saturday the 14th. Between stages it will become one big party featuring a race expo with vendor booths, giveaways, music and much more! Placing is determined by cumulative time. Start up Tibble Fork Canyon by the reservoir and make the gradual descent through the lush American Fork Canyon. This is the pinnacle of racing events at the half marathon distance in Utah and the first running event allowed down American Fork Canyon.

The Utah Chapter of the American Association of Zoo Keepers (AAZK), in partnership with Utah’s Hogle Zoo and along with Sports Am L.L.C., is proud to host our third annual “Wild Stampede- 5K Run and Walk for Wildlife” fundraiser on Saturday September 29th, 2012. Along with the 5k will be a Kids Dash for ages twelve and under.

AAZK is an organization of zoo keepers and volunteers dedicated to professional development and conservation projects.
All proceeds from the event will directly benefit wildlife conservation.

We hope you will join us at Utah’s Hogle Zoo where the fun and scenic 5k course begins at the Zoo’s east parking area, wraps up around Wasatch Boulevard and Michigan Ave, and then returns back to the Zoo. The Kids Dash is approximately 1 k. After the run you can enjoy food, music, awards and visit with a few of the Zoo’s animal ambassadors in the Zoo’s Events Pavilion. Strollers and wagons are welcome, but please leave pets, bikes, heelies, rollerblades and skateboards home.
